Police officer kicked in face; suspect arrested in Woodbridge incident

Assault and Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On April 6, 2020 at 6:00PM, officers from the Prince William County Police Department responded to The Landings at Markhams Grant Apartments located in the 15700 block of Tassia Ln. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic.

Officers located a man, later identified as the accused, in an exterior hallway who was determined to be intoxicated. The accused was taken into custody and, upon being escorted to a police cruiser, began resisting and refused to follow the officer’s commands. During the encounter, the accused kicked an officer in the face, according to MPO Renee Carr, police department representative.  After a brief struggle, the accused was taken into custody without further incident.

Officers transported the accused to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The officer also reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Alhassan KAMARA, was arrested.
