Police K-9 locates suspect in Woodbridge stabbing

Aggravated Malicious Wounding – On April 5, 2020 at 8:21PM, officers from the Prince William County Police Department responded to a residence located in the 12700 block of Cara Dr. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a stabbing. The victim, a 57-year-old man, reported to police that he and a man he just met, later identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated.

During the encounter, the accused retrieved a knife from the kitchen and stabbed the victim in the head. The parties were separated by another acquaintance who was also cut by the knife in the process. The police were contacted by other residents. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The accused fled the scene prior to police arriving at the home. A police K-9 responded and searched for the accused who was located a short distance away and detained without incident. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Jie LIN, was arrested.
