Afternoon smoke turns into an armed robbery; masked suspect sought

Armed Robbery | Residential Burglary – On March 30 at 2 p.m., Prince William County police officers responded to the Dominion Middle Ridge Apartments located in the 12300 block of Pond Run Dr. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate an initial report of a disorderly.

When officers arrived, they located the victim, a 17-year-old male juvenile, who reported to police that he and an acquaintance were at his residence smoking marijuana when an unknown male suspect entered the home. During the encounter, the suspect brandished a knife towards the victim and demanded the marijuana and money. At one point, the suspect pushed the victim to the ground and cut him with the knife. Eventually the parties separated, and the suspect fled on foot after taking marijuana. The acquaintance did not intervene during the physical encounter and left with the suspect.

A police K-9 responded and searched the area for the suspect who was not located. The victim reported minor injuries. The suspect was only described as a white male wearing a mask and all black clothing. This incident does not appear to be random. The investigation continues.

Residential Burglary – On March 30 at 4 p.m., Prince William County police officers responded to a residence located in the 18300 block of Sharon Rd. in Triangle (22172) to investigate a burglary.

The homeowner reported to police that he received notification from his security system at approximately 3:42AM on March 29 that his garage door was opened. The investigation revealed that entry into the garage was gained through the main garage door. The vehicle inside the garage was entered and a firearm was taken from a locked compartment which was found damaged. Two bicycles and the electronic garage door remote were also reported missing.

There was no report of entry being made into the home.
