Suspicious Incident *UPDATE – On October 21, the School Resource Officer (SRO) at Rippon Middle School concluded the investigation into the suspicious incidents that were reported to have occurred near a bus stop located at Broker Ln. and Bronco Way in Woodbridge (22193) last week.
During the investigation, the SRO was able to locate and identify the driver of the vehicle involved. The investigation revealed that the driver stopped to speak to the girls due to safety concerns regarding their presence in the roadway. The encounter included comments which led to a misunderstanding. There were no threats made or any physical contact during the encounter. Due to the findings of the investigation, no criminal act was deemed to have occurred and no charges will be sought in this case.
Suspicious Incident [Previously Released] – On October 17 at 1:00PM, the School Resource Officer (SRO) at Rippon Middle School, received information about several suspicious incidents that were reported to have occurred near a bus stop located at Broker Ln. and Bronco Way in Woodbridge (22191) during the last week.
More than one female student reported to police that on different mornings during the last week, between 7:30AM and 7:50AM, a tan van with dark tinted windows was seen slowly driving in the area near the bus stop. As the vehicle drove near the bus stop, the driver would make inappropriate comments towards the girls.
Each time, the suspect left the area without stopping. At no point were the students threatened or not allowed to leave and no physical contact was made. The investigation continues.
