County police investigate four shooting incidents in Woodbridge

Shooting Investigation; drugs involved – Early this morning, Thursday, October 17 at 2:05AM, Prince William County police officers responded to the Glen Ridge Commons Apartments located in the 12800 block of Island House Lp. in Woodbridge (22192 - Lake Ridge area) to investigate a shots fired called. As officers were responding, they learned of a victim, later identified as a 23-year-old woman, being treated at an area hospital who was reportedly struck during the encounter.

The victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening. When officers arrived in the area of the shooting, they located an unoccupied apartment with evidence of gunshots being fired both inside and outside of an apartment. No other injuries or property damage were reported.

During the investigation, evidence of narcotics was located, and a search warrant was subsequently executed on the apartment. Suspected cocaine and marijuana were recovered along with ammunition. At this point, this incident does not appear to be random. The investigation continues.

Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling – In the wee hours of today, Thursday,  October 17 at 3:13AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 4500 block of Evansdale Rd. in Woodbridge (22193-Dale City area) to investigate a shots fired call. Residents reported to police that gunshots were heard in the above area.

When officers arrived, they located a residence with damage consistent with being struck by projectiles. Shell casings were also located on the street in front of the residence. No injuries or other property damage were reported. At this point, this incident does not appear to be random. The investigation continues.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On October 17 at 1:00AM, officers responded to the Best Western located at 14619 Potomac Mills Rd. in Woodbridge (22192 - Potomac Mills area) to investigate a shots fired call. An employee of the hotel reported to police that gunshots were heard in the parking lot area of the hotel.

The investigation revealed that shots were fired, possibly by more than one shooter, before all parties dispersed and fled the area in different vehicles. Shell casings were located in the parking lot. No injuries or property damage were reported. At this point, this incident does not appear to be random. The investigation continues.

Reckless Handling of a Firearm – On October 16 at 11:15PM, officers responded to the 4300 block of Hendricks Dr. in Woodbridge (22193-Dale City area) to investigate a shots fired call. Residents reported to police that gunshots were heard in the above area.

The investigation revealed that firearms were discharged in front of the home, possibly by more than one shooter, before all parties dispersed and fled in a vehicle. Shell casings were located on the street. No injuries or property damage were reported. At this point, this incident does not appear to be random. The investigation continues.
