Suspect located, charged in Aug. 4 residential burglary in Manassas

**UPDATES**
Residential Burglary *ARREST – On August 13, officers obtained additional information that led to the identity of the suspect sought in connection with the burglary that occurred at a residence in the 8100 block of Peakwood Ct. in Manassas on August 4.

On August 14, officers on proactive patrol encountered the suspect and detained him without incident. Following the investigation, the suspect identified as Joshua Lee RICHARDS, was arrested.

Charged with burglary

Residential Burglary [Previously Released]– On August 4 at 9:25PM, officers responded to the Maplewood Park Apartments located in the 8100 block of Peakwood Ct. in Manassas (20111) to investigate a burglary in progress. The investigation revealed that a resident of the apartment encountered an unknown man exiting through a bedroom window. The resident went to a neighbor’s home where police were contacted. Additional officers, a police K-9 and the Fairfax police helicopter searched the area for the suspect who was not located. Entry was gained through the unsecured bedroom window. An undisclosed amount of money was reported missing.
