Police identify suspect in July 20 baseball bat wounding incident in Lake Ridge shopping center

Malicious Wounding *SUSPECT IDENTIFIED – On August 2, officers obtained additional information which led to the identity of the suspect in connection with the malicious wounding that occurred in the 4200 block of Merchant Plaza in the Lake Ridge section of Woodbridge (22192) on July 20.

Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the suspect, identified as Craig Douglas ARUNDALE. Attempts to locate the suspect have been unsuccessful.

Described as a white male, 6’1”, 210Lbs., with red hair and blue eyes
Charged with malicious wounding

Malicious Wounding [Previously Released] – On July 20 at 3:28AM, officers responded to investigate a fight that occurred in the 4200 block of Merchant Plaza in Woodbridge (22192) earlier in the day. The victim, a 31-year-old woman, reported to police that she and an acquaintance, identified as the suspect, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated.

During the encounter, the suspect struck the victim with a bat multiple times in the upper body before breaking her cell phone while she was attempting to contact police.

Eventually the parties separated, and the victim went to a nearby business to contact police. The victim reported multiple injuries including a laceration above her eye. The investigation continues.
