Woodbridge homeowner confronts burglary in progress Monday afternoon

Residential Burglary – On Monday, July 8 at 4:31PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 4500 block of Knoll Dr. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a burglary in progress.

The homeowner returned home and startled the intruder. The homeowner fled the home and contacted police. The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Entry appeared to have been made into the residence through the rear sliding-glass door which was found partially open. No property damage was reported.

Jewelry, an undisclosed amount of money and a small lock box were reported missing. A police K-9 searched for the suspect who was not located. No description of the suspect was provided to police.
