Suspect kicks one county police officer, then hits another

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On February 17 at 7:44PM, officers were at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center located at 2300 Opitz Blvd in Woodbridge (22191) waiting to transport the accused to another medical facility after initially being detained on court-issued paperwork.

During the encounter, the accused threw a cup of urine at three officers. When officers attempted to further restrain the accused, he kicked an officer in the chest and punched another officer on the arm. The accused was eventually restrained without further incident.

No injuries were reported by the officers or the accused. The accused was subsequently transported to a separate facility where he is receiving further treatment. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Van SOR, was charged.
