Assault and battery on law enforcement officers reported in three instances on Nov. 10

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On November 10 at 9:37AM, Prince William County police officers responded to the area of Tamarack Pl and Walnut St in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a 911 hang-up, according to Sgt. Jonathan Perok, police department spokesman.

When officers arrived in the area, they observed two female juveniles arguing. As officers approached the juveniles, an assault was witnessed. Officers attempted to detain the juveniles to investigate the altercation. During the encounter, one of the juveniles pushed and spat at an officer. A struggle ensued and the juvenile was eventually detained.

Both juveniles were then escorted to a police cruiser. At that point, Sgt. Perok said, the other juvenile jumped and kicked another officer in the chest. As officers attempted to control the juvenile, she continued kicking the officer multiple times to the legs.

Perok said the juveniles were eventually secured. The investigation revealed that one of the juveniles were involved in a domestic with a family member, identified as a 45-year-old man, at their home nearby.

During that encounter, the juvenile assaulted the family member before she left the home and met up with the other juvenile. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, both juveniles were arrested.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On November 10 at 2:08AM, a Prince William County police officer stopped a vehicle in the 2900 block of Dale Blvd in Woodbridge (22192) for suspected driver impairment. During the stop, the driver, identified as the accused, refused to exit the vehicle, according to Sgt, Jonathan Perok, police department spokesman.

At one point, after being told she was under arrest, the accused kicked the officer in the chest. The officer was not injured and the accused, identified as Shivali SOBTI, was eventually taken into custody.

Charged with assault & battery on a LEO, driving under the influence, and obstruction of justice
Court Date: Pending | Bond: $8,000 unsecured
