Attempted Abduction – On September 23rd at 6:08PM, officers responded to investigate an attempted abduction which was reported to have occurred in the area of Bevanwood Dr and Elkwood Ln in Woodbridge (22193) earlier that afternoon around 3:30PM.
The victim, a 13 year old female juvenile, reported to police that she was walking home from her bus stop when she was approached by an unknown man in a 2-door, light blue colored pick-up truck with lumber in the back.
During the encounter, the man asked the victim for directions to a nearby convenience store.
After the victim stated the directions to the man, he then exited the truck and grabbed the victim by her shirt causing the sleeve to rip. The victim was able to break free of the man’s grasp and run to her home where she reported the incident to her family later in the evening. No injuries were reported.
There were no known witnesses to the incident and no other similar incidents were reported.
Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the suspect or the truck. The investigation continues.
Suspect Description:
White male, between 50 & 55 years of age, 5’10”, 160 pounds with a thin build, long white beard, shaggy hair and a mole on his left cheek
Last seen wearing a green shirt, blue pants with paint stains and tan boots
