Parents who stepped inside Glenkirk Elementary
in Gainesville, Va., on May 11 got to tour a gallery of artwork created by students from kindergarteners through fifth-graders. The school’s “Knight at the Museum” was a hit with parents, students and faculty, according to Valerie Silvis, a second-grade teacher at the school. The evening included open-microphone performances by students who played piano and violin.
Silvis said the second-graders performed curriculum songs they learned throughout the school year.
First-graders’ artwork is shown here.
