INCIDENT REPORTS
Carjacking:
On May 9 at 8:31 p.m., police responded to the 2900 block of Dale Blvd in Woodbridge for a robbery. The male victim, 39, of Fredericksburg, reported to police he had just pulled into the parking lot when he observed an unknown man in another vehicle. As the victim parked, the man approached his vehicle and asked for money. When the victim refused, the man displayed a firearm and took the victim’s keys and vehicle. No injuries were reported. At 9:22 p.m., the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle, unoccupied, within their jurisdiction. The investigation continues.
ARRESTS
Possession of a Schedule I or II Narcotic:
On May 9 at 12:59 a.m., police conducted a vehicle stop in the area of Waterway Dr and Ridgecrest Dr in Montclair. The driver, the accused, was detained under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. A search of the accused resulted in a baggie containing cocaine. Arrested: Joey Wilson Staats, 50, of 120 Midway Dr. in Stafford. Charged with possession of a schedule I or II narcotic [cocaine] and driving under the influence. Court date set for July 19, 2011, held on a $3,500 secured bond.
OTHER INCIDENT REPORTS
Burglary:
On May 6 at 11:32 am., police responded to the 2800 block of Cleeve Ct in Woodbridge for a burglary in progress. Homeowner reported to police that an unknown man was attempting to enter the residence through a wooden temporary door using a shovel. Once the man noticed the homeowner, he fled the area. No items were reported missing. Lookout: Light-skinned black male, between 18 and 22, 6-feet, 0-inches, 150 lbs., thin build, black hair. Last seen wearing a red shirt, long blue jean shorts.
