Burglary
On December 21, 2013 Manassas City Police met with a resident on the 9400 block of Taney Rd in reference to a burglary.  According to the reporting party, someone(s) entered his residence between approximately 2:30PM and 5:00PM on December 21st and stole an Apple iPad Mini and Apple iPod valued together at over $600.00.

Breaking and Entering
On December 21, 2013 Manassas City Police responded to the 9000 block of Grant Ave for a report of a burglary.  According the reporting party, someone(s) broke into the home sometime between 12:00PM and 10:00PM on December 21st.  Jewelry valued in excess of $50,000 and an undisclosed amount of cash were stolen from the residence.

**ARRESTS**

Malicious Wounding – Arrest
On December 20, 2013 Manassas City Investigators with the assistance of the Northern Virginia Regional Gang Task Force (NVGTF) concluded a two-month investigation into a stabbing that took place on October 18, 2013 at 9100 Mathis Ave.  The suspect, a 17-year-old male with ties to Woodbridge and Manassas, VA, was taken into custody without incident near the intersection of Hastings Dr and Racquet Cir after Officers discovered his whereabouts throughout the course of the investigation.  The accused was transported to the Prince William County Juvenile Detention Center and charged with malicious wounding.

Aggravated Assault
Just before 4:00PM on Friday, October 18, 2013 Manassas City Police responded to “Manassas Shopping Center” located at 9100 Mathis Ave in reference to a stabbing.  The juvenile victim sustained two non-life threatening stab wounds and was transported to an area hospital.  A detention order is on file for the juvenile suspect in this case.  This is an ongoing investigation.

Assault on a Police Officer – Arrest
On December 21, 2013 Manassas City Police were dispatched to the 8300 block of Gaither St for a report of a loud party.  Upon arrival, Officers discovered loud noise coming from the residence and made contact with the homeowner, Marcos Alejandro Powell.  Powell refused to shut down the party when speaking with Officers.  Powell then proceeded to follow one of the Officers back to his Police vehicle without being asked to do so, at which point the Officer attempted to taken him into custody for being intoxicated in public.  In the process of being handcuffed, Powell struck the Officer in the face and continued to assault him on the ground before assisting Officers deployed a Taser to remove and apprehend Powell.  The assaulted Officer sustained non life-threatening injuries as a result of the encounter.  Marcos Alejandro Powell, 45, of 8349 Gaither St was charged with assault on a law enforcement Officer, strangulation, resisting arrest, and intoxicated in public.  He was held without bond and has a pending court date of February 4, 2014.

During this incident, a fight erupted inside the residence in response to Marcos Powell’s arrest.  After observing a second assault taking place inside, Officers entered and secured the residence where they made a second arrest.  Micael Agustin Powell, 37, of 5668 Northton Ct, Woodbridge, VA was charged with assault on a law enforcement Officer, disorderly conduct, obstruction of justice, and resisting arrest.  Micael A. Powell was held on a $3,000.00 secure bond and has a pending court date of February 4, 2014.

Driving Under the Influence – Arrest
On December 21, 2013 Manassas City Police arrested Marlon Omar Quintanilla, 23, of 9583 Nittany Dr for driving under the influence, eluding Police, and refusal to comply with a blood or breath sobriety test.  After observing Quintanilla’s erratic driving behavior traveling east on Wellington Rd from Grant Ave, Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop to which Quintanilla did not respond.  Quintanilla ultimately came to a stop in front of his residence where he was taken into custody without incident.  No injuries or damage came about as a result of the incident.  Quintanilla was held on a $2,000 secure bond and has a pending court date of January 28, 2014.
