Manassas City police officer struck by vehicle; Rt 28 N temporarily closed

At approximately 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2013 a Manassas City police officer was struck by a vehicle while conducting a routine traffic stop on Rt 28 near Phoenix Dr.
The officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries. One lane on VA 28 northbound near Phoenix Dr was closed for several hours for an ongoing accident investigation.
More information will follow, according to a city police department spokesman.
