PWC Police charge Manassas Park man, 20, with homicide in Manassas

• Murder Investigation *ARREST – On January 13, 2025 the suspect, identified as Marlon Osvaldo BAUTISTA, who was sought in connection with the shooting that killed a 22-year-old man in the 8300 block of Sunset Dr. in Manassas (20110) on January 9, 2025 was arrested.
          Arrested on January 13:
Marlon Osvaldo BAUTISTA, 20, of 167 Scott Dr. in Manassas Park
Charged with second degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony

Murder Investigation *SUSPECT WANTED [Previously Released] – During the ongoing investigation into the murder of a 22-year-old man killed in a shooting that occurred in the 8300 block of Sunset Dr. in Manassas (20110) on January 9, detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for a man involved in the encounter. The investigation revealed the victim was fatally shot during an altercation with the accused, identified as Marlon Osvaldo BAUTISTA. Attempts to locate BAUTISTA have been unsuccessful.  Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the wanted suspect or who can otherwise aid in the investigation is asked to contact the police. More information will be released when available. The investigation continues.

Homicide Investigation [Previously Released] – On January 9 at 6:19PM, officers responded to the 8300 block of Sunset Dr. in Manassas (20110) to investigate a shooting. When officers initially arrived in the above area, there were no signs of injuries, and any involved parties had left the area. While investigating the incident, officers received information that a 22-year-old man was being treated at an area hospital for gunshot wounds. Further investigation revealed two groups were involved in an altercation that escalated while in the above area. During the encounter, gunfire was exchanged before the parties left the area in separate vehicles. The injured man was driven to an area hospital where he later died. No additional injuries or property damage were reported. This incident does not appear random. Detectives are actively investigating the incident to determine what led up to the shooting. More information will be released when available.
