Prince William County fire and rescue units were dispatched at 8:17 a.m. to the 12700 block of Gordon Blvd. (Woodbridge) for a report of building collapse as the result of a motor vehicle crash.

According to Matt Smolsky, Assistant Chief for Prince William Fire and Rescue, units arriving on the scene observed a tractor trailer had crashed into a condo building at the Moorings of Occoquan. Multiple vehicles were involved. Five patients were evaluated with four being transported to the hospital. No one in the building was injured, Smolsky said.

Smolsky said the building sustained moderate damage. A Building Official is on the scene evaluating the extent of damages. County emergency workers anticipate several people will be displaced.

Smolsky said Fire and Rescue units are remaining on the scene to shore up the damaged structure and to stand by while the truck is removed from the building.

All inquiries regarding the cause of the crash are being referred to the Prince William County Police Department.
