Crews dispatched to Nokesville fire that turned out to be a mulch pile burning, says Fire Marshal

Matt Smolsky, Prince William County’s Assistant Chief/Fire Marshall, reported at 3:01 a.m. today, Sunday, Oct. 27, that earlier this morning fire and rescue units were dispatched to the 13200 block of Farmview Road (Nokesville) for a report of a structure on fire.

Crews arrived on the scene to discover a large mulch pile on fire at the Site One Landscape Supply Company.

Smolsky said the fire is contained but will take a few hours to completely extinguish. In the meantime, residents in the area may observe smoke.There is no danger to the community.

The PWC Fire Marshal said “residents in the immediate area of the incident may want to keep windows closed to avoid the wood burning smell.”
