Prince William County Procurement Services is inviting vendors and prospective vendors interested in doing business with the county to the first annual Procurement Expo: “Making Connections, Building Partnerships” on Thursday, June 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Connaughton Plaza at the Prince William County Government Complex, 1 County Complex Court in Woodbridge.
The expo aims to link the vendor community with county agencies, helping the county fulfill its business needs while providing vendors the opportunity to market their services and gain insights into doing business with the county.
Vendors attending the in-person event will have the chance to meet with county agencies, who will share information on the goods and services they plan to procure in Fiscal Year 2025, which begins July 1.
“The expo is an opportunity for potential vendors to meet with county agency representatives and learn about upcoming procurement opportunities for each agency,” said Prince William County Chief Procurement Officer Shana Terry. “We will also have matchmaking sessions, which are like speed dating for businesses. Vendors will have 10-minute one-on-one meetings with county agency representatives to share their capabilities and learn about the agencies.”
Vendors who attend the expo will have the opportunity to:
• Learn about different departments’ missions, goods and services typically procured, and contractual spending plans for the upcoming fiscal year.
• Attend panel discussions on Information Technology Procurement and Construction and Architectural Engineering Procurement.
• Participate in one-on-one matchmaking sessions with county departments to discuss upcoming needs and what the department looks for in a contractor business partner. Pre-registration is required for one-on-one sessions.
Both potential vendors who are interested in doing business with the county and current vendors are encouraged to attend the Expo. Procurement Services also encourages local small, woman, and minority-owned businesses to attend.
“The major benefit of the expo is the opportunity for vendors to connect with agencies and market their business,” Terry said. “The Expo will also include onsite vendor registration and information on the County’s upcoming multi-factor authentication changes and updates. It’s a great opportunity for county agencies and potential vendors to learn more about each other.”
