PWC Crime Report: May 9, 2023 - Three police officers attacked in shopping center incident

Armed Robbery *ARREST –
On May 4, 2023 the suspect sought in connection to the robbery that was reported to have occurred in the area of Willow Ln. near Hylton Ave. in Woodbridge (22191) on May 1, was arrested. The accused, identified as Daviyon Gene FERGUSON, was taken into custody without incident.
Arrested on May 4:
Daviyon Gene FERGUSON, 20, of 13400 Forest Glen Rd. in Woodbridge
Charged with robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, carrying an unlawfully loaded firearm

Armed Robbery [Previously Released] – On May 1 at 9:05PM, officers responded to the area of Willow Ln. near Hylton Ave. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery. As officers were responding to the area, they conducted a vehicle stop nearby where they made contact with the victim, identified as 25-year-old man. The investigation revealed the victim was parked in the above area, when an unknown man entered the vehicle and brandished a firearm before demanding the victim’s property. The suspect then demanded the victim’s phone and attempted to send himself money via an electronic transmission. When the transmission did not work, the suspect threw the phone at the victim along with unidentified medication. The victim then fled the area and contacted the police. While investigating the incident, officers identified the accused and were able to make brief contact with him at his residence before he fled from the officers. While inside the home, officers located items believed to be connected to the robbery. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Daviyon Gene FERGUSON. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

INCIDENTS
• Fatal Crash Investigation –
On May 8, 2023 at 11:09PM, crash investigators responded to the area of Potomac Shores Pkwy and River Heritage Blvd. in Dumfries (22026) to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian. The investigation revealed the driver of a 2010 Lexus R35 was traveling south on Potomac Shores Pkwy when the vehicle struck a pedestrian who was in the roadway.
Fire and rescue personnel responded to the scene where the pedestrian was pronounced deceased. The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene.
At the time of the crash, the pedestrian was wearing dark-colored clothing and not within a crosswalk. Additionally, the above area of the roadway was not illuminated. Speed, alcohol, or drug use were not factors in the collision with the driver of the vehicle. Investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit are asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash to contact police.
Identified:
The deceased pedestrian was identified as Abdul Bubu KAMARA Jr., 38, of Woodbridge
The driver of the Lexus R35 was identified as a 29-year-old woman of Woodbridge

• Strong-Arm Robbery – On May 8, 2023 at 7:04PM, officers from Prince William County Police Department responded to the 8300 block of Sudley Rd. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a robbery. The investigation revealed the victim, a 16-year-old male juvenile, was riding an electric scooter in the cut through between the shopping center and residential area, when an unknown man pushed him off the scooter. The suspect then took the scooter and fled the area. The victim initially attempted to follow the suspect and then left the area and contacted the police. No injuries were reported.

A Hispanic male with a medium build and a long ponytail
Last seen wearing a white shirt just around his neck and khaki pants

ARRESTS
Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] –
On May 8, 2023 at 12:26PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to Manassas Mall located at 8270 Sudley Rd. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a shoplifting. Upon arriving in the parking lot of the Macy’s store, officers observed a man on the sidewalk in front of the store who matched the description provided to police. Officers determined the man was the suspect sought in the larceny and attempted to detain him. During the encounter, the man, identified as the accused, actively resisted, and struck three separate officers before eventually being taken into custody. Two of the officers reported minor injuries. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as David Frederick MARLOWE, was arrested.

Charged with 3 counts of assault & battery on LEO, 1 count of obstruction of justice, 1 count of petit larceny, and 1 count of possession of burglarious tools
