This morning, Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022 at 5:19 AM fire and rescue units were dispatched to the 12000 block of Hatchway Ct. (Lake Ridge) for a reported single-family dwelling fire, according to Matt Smolsky, deputy chief of Prince William Fire & Rescue.
Smolsky said crews arrived to fire and heavy smoke conditions. The owner/occupant of the home was alerted by the tenant of a fire on the first floor. Both adult occupants were out of the home when units arrived. The adult male tenant sustained injuries requiring him to be treated and transported to a regional medical facility. The victim remains hospitalized. The home sustained extensive damage. The Red Cross is assisting the displaced occupants. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
