Homicide Investigation – On July 1 at 4:28AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 13900 block of Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived, they located an adult female in the nearby wooded area suffering from gunshot wounds. Rescue personnel responded and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. No additional victims or property damage were located.
No additional gunshot calls were received in the above area during the time of the incident. At this time, detectives from the Homicide Unit are actively investigating the incident to determine what led up to the shooting and are seeking to speak with anyone who has information as to what occurred. No suspect has been identified at this time. More information will be released when available. The investigation continues.
