Prince William County Police Reports for Monday, June 7, 2022 - Two in masks flee auto dealership

INCIDENTS
• Armed Robbery –
On June 4, 2022 at 12:53AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to 7300 block of Sudley Rd. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 54-year-old man, reported to police he was walking in the above area when he was approached by a group of unknown men. During the encounter, one of the men demanded the victim’s property. The victim ran from the men before the suspects caught up to him near Balls Ford Rd. where they caused him to fall to the ground. Once on the ground, the suspects struck the victim multiple times. At one point, a firearm was brandished towards the victim before the suspects took the victim’s property and fled on foot. The victim reported minor injuries. A police K-9 and helicopter assistance from Fairfax County police searched for the suspects who were not located. The suspects were described as black men all wearing dark-colored clothing except for one of the men who wore a white t-shirt.

• Brandishing of a Firearm – On June 5 at 2:34AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the area of Gambril Dr. near Sudley Manor Dr. in Manassas (20109) to investigate a brandishing. The investigation revealed the victims, a 30-year-old man and a 32-year-old man, were driving in the above area and observed two other vehicles driving behind them. The victims turned onto Gambril Dr. where the other two vehicles, described as a white Jeep and a dark-colored sedan, followed. At one point, a firearm was brandished by the driver of each vehicle before they drove out of the area. At no point were shots fired during the incident. Both vehicles were driven by unknown black men.

• Commercial Burglary – On June 5, 2022 at 3:26AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to Lustine Toyota Dodge located at 14227 Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an alarm activation. Upon arriving at the dealership, officers observed two masked individuals inside the business. When the suspects saw the officers, they ran to a black Mercedes AMG near the business and fled the area. The investigation revealed that the suspects smashed the rear window of a vehicle parked in the lot and then drove that vehicle into the service bay door where they gained entry into the dealership. While inside the business, the suspects tampered with multiple vehicles before officers arrived at the location. No property was reported missing.
Suspect Descriptions:
A white male, approximately 5’10”, 180-190lbs.
Last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with white writing on the back, grey shorts, and grey sneakers with white trim
A light-skinned male, approximately 5’5”, with a thin build
Last seen wearing a black face mask, a black hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored jeans, gloves, and carrying a backpack
Vehicle Description:
A black Mercedes AMG, with tinted windows, and black rims

• Residential Burglary – On June 4, 2022 at 9:39AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to investigate a burglary that was reported to have occurred at the Woodbridge Station Apartments located in the 1300 block of Eisenhower Cl. in Woodbridge (22191) on June 3. A resident of an apartment reported to police the burglary occurred sometime between 8:15AM and 6:15PM. The investigation revealed entry was made into the home through the front door which was found damaged. Medication was reported missing.

ARRESTS
• Abduction | Domestic Related –
On June 5, 2022 at 6:31PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 8600 block of Centerton Ln. in Manassas (20111) to investigate a domestic involving a weapon. The victim, identified as 20-year-old woman, reported to police a verbal altercation with an acquaintance, identified as the accused, escalated when the accused physically prevented her from leaving the room. During the encounter, the accused pushed the victim before brandishing a firearm and taking her phone. Eventually, the victim was able to separate from the accused and use the phone of another occupant of the home to contact the police. Responding officers located the accused inside the home and detained him without incident. No injuries were reported by the victim. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Jose Antonio SANDOVAL, was arrested.

Charged with abduction, brandishing, preventing the summoning of law enforcement, and domestic assault & battery

• Sexual Assault Investigation – On June 3, 2022 detectives with the Prince William County Police Department’s Special Victims Bureau, in coordination with Child Protective Services, concluded an investigation into a sexual assault that was reported to have occurred at Youth for Tomorrow located at 11835 Hazel Circle Dr. in Bristow (20136) between January 1 and March 11. The investigation began on March 15 when a resident reported to staff members that another resident, identified as a 16-year-old female juvenile, and a male employee, identified as the accused, were involved in an inappropriate relationship. The investigation revealed that the accused had an inappropriate relationship with the victim during the above timeframe while the accused was in a custodial role and working at the campus. Following the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Dennis James HEFLIN, who was taken into custody on June 3 by members of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information to report regarding this investigation is asked to contact police.

Charged with indecent liberties by a custodian

• Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On June 3 at 10:11PM, officers responded to the Summerland Heights Apartments located in the 13500 block of Cridercrest Pl. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a domestic. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 31-year-old woman, and a family member, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. During then encounter, the accused retrieved a firearm and brandished it towards the victim. At that point, the victim left the residence and contacted the police. Officers responded to the residence where they encountered the accused and took him into custody. During a search, the accused kicked an officer before being re-secured without further incident. No injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Alberto MOOTOO, was arrested.
