Manassas Police investigate three vehicles hit, pedestrian struck and larceny from auto

Assault
On April 30, 2022, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Manassas City Police responded to the 8600 block of Portner Ave. in the City of Manassas for a report of a “shooting”. Upon arrival it was discovered the victim was struck by rounds from an airsoft gun. The victim was not injured. The victim saw a green SUV traveling on Portner Ave. towards Breeden Ave at a high rate of speed but could not describe any further details of the occupants or vehicle. Investigation is ongoing.

Pedestrian Struck
On April 30, 2022, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Manassas City Police responded to the 9200 block of Wellington Rd. in the City of Manassas for an adult male skateboarder struck by a vehicle at the entrance to 7-11. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle was charged with Reckless Driving.

DUI/ Accident
On April 30, 2022, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Manassas City Police responded to a crash involving four vehicles at the intersection of Wellington Rd. and Godwin Dr. in the City of Manassas. Investigation revealed that an intoxicated driver rear ended three other vehicles at the traffic light.

Larceny from Auto:
On May 3, 2022 a citizen reported reported an unknown person rummaged through their vehicle and stole loose change while parked in the 9100 block of Main St. in the City of Manassas. A separate incident was reported on the same day that occurred in the 9200 block of Douglas St., however no items were stolen. Residents are reminded to lock their vehicles to help deter theft.
