PWC Police report a pedestrian died from injuries sustained in Feb. 24 accident in Woodbridge

Fatal Crash Investigation – On Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 6:19PM, investigators with the Prince William County Police Department’s Crash Investigation Unit responded to the area of River Ridge Road and Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian, according to Officer Wade Dickinson, public informer officer. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2016 Chrysler Town and Country was traveling westbound on River Ridge Road approaching Jefferson Davis Highway when the vehicle struck a pedestrian who stepped into the lane of travel, outside of a crosswalk. The driver remained on scene of the crash. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with severe, life-threatening injuries. On March 11, crash investigators were notified that the pedestrian died as a result of the injuries sustained during the crash.  Speed, alcohol, and drugs were not factors in the crash.

The deceased pedestrian was identified as Arthur Raymond LABUNDE, 65, of Washington, D.C.
The driver of the 2016 Chrysler Town and Country was identified as 32-year-old man of Washington, D.C.
