Two people displaced in Haymarket fire; extensive damage to Lawnvale home reported
Prince William Fire and Rescue units were dispatched to a house fire in the 4000 block of Lawnvale Drive, Haymarket, on Sunday, Jan, 30, according to Matt Smolsky, Assistant Chief/Fire Marshal of Prince William Fire & Rescue.
Crews arrived to a single-family dwelling fully involved. According to Assistant Chief Smolsky, the occupant had returned home and upon entering the structure encountered heavy fire and smoke conditions.
The fire official said the occupant was transported to an area medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries.
Two adults were displaced, and the home sustained extensive damage, Smolsky said. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, he added.
