Young Woodbridge mother charged with felony child neglect

•Felony Child Neglect – On Friday, Dec. 10, 2021 at 5:41PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to a residence located in the 3500 block of Christy Ln. in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an unresponsive infant. The investigation revealed that at some point during the day two children, a 1-year-old boy and a 9-month-old boy, gained access to prescription medication. At one point, the 9-month-old boy ingested the medication and became unresponsive. The child was transported to an area hospital where he received treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.

Following the investigation, MPO Renee Carr, public information officer, said that the mother identified as Niyah Tashae WILLIAMS, was arrested. Officers also obtained arrest warrants for the father, identified as Alpha KANARA. Attempts to locate KANARA have been unsuccessful.

Described as a black male, approximately 5’10”, 150 lbs.,with black hair and brown eyes. Wanted for 2 counts of felony child neglect, 1 count of possession of a controlled substance, and 1 count of obstruction of justice.

• Aggravated Malicious Wounding | Residential Burglary – On Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021 at 12:53PM, officers with the Prince William County Police Department responded to a residence located in the 12500 block of Armada Pl. in Lake Ridge (22192) to investigate a burglary.

The investigation revealed that the accused and a female acquaintance went to the above location where they pushed their way past the homeowner to gain entry into the home. While inside the home, the two suspects entered the room of the victim, a 39-year-old man, and struck him multiple times. The victim reported to police that he and the accused were previously involved in an altercation over the phone
where the accused threatened the victim. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Following the investigation, officers obtained arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Tyson Amorie WATSON, who was taken into custody the following day. Officers also obtained arrest warrants for the female acquaintance, identified as Brandi Carissa GOODEN. Attempts to locate GOODEN have been unsuccessful.
