Detectives with the Prince William County Police Department's Homicide Unit have identified the man killed in the early morning shooting Aug. 29 that occurred in the area of Bel Air Rd & Jeffries Rd in Woodbridge.

Public asked for clues in early morning homicide in Woodbridge

On August 29 at 1:06AM, officers responded to the area of Bel Air Rd and Jeffries Rd in Woodridge (22191) to investigate a shots fired call. When officers arrived, they located an adult man suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gunshot heard on bus in Lake Ridge; bus seat and window damaged

Riders on the bus reported to police that a gun shot was heard on the bus at the stop located at Old Bridge Rd. and Titania Way. After the shot was heard, the driver proceeded to the next bus stop for safety and contacted police.

PWC student, 16, arrested for allegedly stalking a Gar-Field HS female student

A 16-year-old female student, reported to police that while she was waiting for the bus, she was approached by a former acquaintance, identified as the accused. During the encounter, the accused assaulted the victim and physically prevented her from leaving.

Suspect in Aug. 20 abduction case turns himself in to PWC Police

Malicious Wounding | Abduction *ARREST – On August 23, the suspect was arrested in connection to a malicious wounding that was reported to have occurred at a residence located in the 8300 block of Crackling Cedar Ln. on August 20. The accused, Edwin CRUZ, turned himself in to police without incident.

Driver dies from injuries sustained in Aug. 16 crash with dump truck in Manassas

On August 16 at 8:40AM, investigators from the Prince William County Police Department's Crash Unit responded to Balls Ford Rd. near Groveton Rd. in Manassas (to investigate a two-vehicle crash involving a 2012 Toyota RAV 4 and a 1999 Sterling dump truck.

9-11 Remembrance Ceremony at 9 a.m. on grounds of PWC headquarters

The community is invited to join the Board of County Supervisors in honoring and remembering the 22 Prince William County residents and all of those who lost their lives on 9-11. A brief ceremony will be held at the Liberty Memorial on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019, at 9 a.m.
