Manassas Council names Steve Burke as new Manassas City Manager

Steve Burke, an Assistant City Manager and Director of Public Works for the City of Manassas, has been named City Manager by Manassas City Council effective February. 3, 2025. Interim City Manager Douglas Keen will return to his post as Police Chief and an Assistant City Manager.

The 4th Colgan Classic, featuring high school bands from across Northern Virginia will perform at Colgan High School on Saturday, Sept. 24 beginning at 11:15 a.m. The Colgan Band will perform at 12:45 p.m.

Juveniles 9, 13 & 14 charged in attempted burglary; shopkeeper charged with reckless handling of gun

On Sunday, Oct. 24 at 2:20AM, Prince William County Police officers responded to Bristow Vapes located at 10985 Nokesville Rd. in Manassas (20109) to investigate an attempted burglary. The investigation revealed that the store owner received an alarm notification at the business shortly after leaving.

Joint Narcotics Task Force arrests three in Manassas

On Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, members of the Manassas City Police Department-Prince William County-Manassas Park Joint Narcotics Task Force conducted an investigation and subsequently made arrests in the 9900 block of Confederate Trail. Detectives had observed multiple suspected drug deals occurring in and around the area, according to a news release.

Two groups of men - all in black—exchange gunfire

On Tuesday, Oct.19 , 2021 at 8:15PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the 1400 block of Cottonwood Ct. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shots fired call. The investigation revealed that a verbal altercation escalated between two groups of men who were outside near the above area. During the encounter, members of both groups exchanged gunfire before fleeing the area in either a vehicle or on foot.
