Manassas Council names Steve Burke as new Manassas City Manager

Steve Burke, an Assistant City Manager and Director of Public Works for the City of Manassas, has been named City Manager by Manassas City Council effective February. 3, 2025. Interim City Manager Douglas Keen will return to his post as Police Chief and an Assistant City Manager.

Second suspect arrested in Tackett’s Mill shopping center homicide

On Wednesday, Dec. 23, the remaining suspect sought in connection to the shooting investigation that was reported to have occurred in the 12700 block of Harbor Dr. in Woodbridge (22192) on Dec. 22, was charged, according to First Sgt. Jonathan Perok, public information supervisor for Prince William County Police.

County police investigate Dec. 22 murder at Tackett’s Mill Shopping Center

On Tuesday, Dec. 22 at 9:31PM, Prince William County police officers responded to the 12700 block of Harbor Dr in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a shooting, according to First Sgt. Jonathan Perok, public information officer for the police department. Perok said when officers arrived, they initially located two victims, later identified as the deceased and an 18-year-old woman, in the parking lot of the Tackett’s Mill shopping complex suffering from gunshot wounds.

Nokesville man turns self in in connection with sexual assault case

On Dec. 18, detectives with Prince William County Police Department's Special Victims Unit in coordination with Child Protective Services, concluded an investigation into a sexual assault reported to have occurred at a residence located in the Nokesville (20181) area of Prince William County sometime between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2018.

Rt. 29 Small Area Plan presentation postponed to Feb. 17, 2021

The Route 29 Small Area Plan, which was scheduled to be presented to the Planning Commission on Dec. 16, 2020, has been postponed to Feb. 17, 2021, according to a news release from the Planning Office. No reason was stated for the postponement.

Three more suspects arrested in connection with Nov. 29 homicide in Woodbridge

On Tuesday, Dec. 8, detectives with the Prince William County Police Department's Homicide Unit identified and arrested three additional suspects in connection to the shooting of Michael Bright ADOM that was reported to have occurred in the 4000 block of Westwind Dr. in Woodbridge (22193) on Sunday, Nov. 29, according to Master Police Officer Renee Carr, the police department's public information officer.

Manassas Police nab suspect in Dec. 7 bank robbery on same day

On Monday, Dec. 7, 2020, at approximately 8:36 a.m. officers of the Manassas City Police Department responded to the TD Bank located at 8401 Diggs Road near the hospital for a report of an armed robbery. The investigation determined that a male wearing a safety vest approached the teller’s window, displayed a firearm and demanded money, according to the police report.

Police determine that the attempted abduction reported Dec. 1 was unfounded

On Friday Dec. 4, upon further investigation, detectives with Prince William County Police Department's Special Victims Bureau determined that the incident surrounding the attempted abduction that allegedly occurred in the area of the Prince William Pkwy and the I-95 interchange in Woodbridge on Dec. 1 was unfounded.
