On Jan. 20, detectives with the Prince William County Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit concluded the investigation into the robbery that was reported to have occurred at the Sheetz located 3300 Noble Pond Way in Woodbridge (22193) on Jan. 7. During the investigation, detectives determined that the vehicle used in the robbery was reported stolen from Maryland. Shortly after, detectives began coordinating Maryland law enforcement officials.

The victim, a 28-year-old woman, reported to police that while working at the above location, her manager, identified as the accused, entered the restroom while she was inside.

While responding, police were informed that the accused refused to let the victims, identified as a 46-year-old female acquaintance and their 4-year-old daughter, leave the home. Members of the Crisis Negotiation Team responded and began speaking with the accused. Eventually, the victim and her daughter were able to leave the residence.

Officers responded to Defy Extreme Air located at 14555 Potomac Mills Rd. in Woodbridge (22192) on Jan. 16 to investigate a shots fired call. Approximately eight men were engaged in a physical altercation outside the business, when one of the parties brandished a firearm and fired multiple rounds. All parties fled prior to police arrival at the business. Shell casings were located in the parking lot.

On Sunday, Jan. 17, at 2:19PM, Prince William County police officers responded to a parking lot located in the 2700 block of Potomac Mills Cl. in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a shots fired call.

Police said the driver of a 2007 Toyota Camry was traveling southbound on James Madison Hwy approaching Dominion Valley Dr when the vehicle struck a pedestrian who was present in the lane of travel, outside of a crosswalk. A short time later, second driver operating a 1995 Chevrolet Silverado traveling in the same travel lane on James Madison Hwy appears to have also struck the pedestrian who was still in the roadway. Both drivers stopped nearby and contacted police.
