On May 10, detectives with the Prince William County Police Department's Violent Crimes Bureau identified two suspects sought in connection to the fatal shooting that occurred in the area of the Somerset Pointe Apartments located in the 14000 block of Deming Dr. in Gainesville (20155) on May 8. One of the suspects is a juvenile.

Prince William County Police officers assigned to an off-duty security detail at a carnival on the grounds of Gar-Field High School in Woodbridge heard what sounded like gunfire coming from an area near the entrance to school. The sound caused those attending the carnival to flee en masse, according to First Sergeant Jonathan Perok, public information officer.

On April 13, following an extensive police investigation and use of a K-9 unit, the School Resource Officer (SRO) obtained detention orders for four juveniles involved in the initial robbery and gun on Rippon Middle School school grounds. Three other juveniles were disciplined by school administration.
