A Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) Winter Solstice banner has been placed in Nelson Park on Sudley Road in Manassas.

Habitat for Humanity Prince William County is closing its current location at 9506 Center Street, Manassas on December 31. On Jan. 23 it will reopen in the former Food Lion space at 10159 Hastings Drive, at the corner of Hastings Drive and Dumfries Road near the Fairgrounds. In preparation for the opening, Habitat is holding a “Stock the ReStore” donation drive.

Virginia Department of Transportation has announced that the Old Carolina/Jefferson Street bridge in Haymarket over I-66 will reopen tomorrow, Dec. 23, nearly five months ahead of schedule.

The Manassas Regional Airport is in the Special Flight Rules Area (SFRA). This means that within five nautical miles of the airport, you will need a Certificate of Authorization (COA) from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to fly a drone or model airplane in this airspace.

Prince William County Police are looking for an armed robbery suspect in the area of Wellington Road and Freedom Center Blvd in Manassas (20110), according to a police bulletin released at 9:58 p.m. on Dec. 18.

One of the things Pat White wanted done in the early 1970s was to turn the old Sudley Barn, at 10501 Copeland Drive in Manassas, into a community center. As president of the Westgate Women’s Club, White led the effort to organize the “Save the Barn” campaign.

Weekly Saturday trash and recycling collection services at the Evergreen fire station will cease operation after the collection on Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, according to a news release from the Solid Waste Division of Prince William County's Department of Public Works.
