PWC Police report incidents and an arrest

Manassas City Police investigate citizen complaints.

Prince William Board of County Supervisors has approved a contract to acquire Elite Shooting Sports, at 7751 Doane Drive in Manassas to expand training for the PWC Police Department. The owner of the current facility is seeking to retire and signed the contract with the County for purchase, estimated at $22 million, about $6 million less than the estimated cost of a new facility.

One virtual and two in-person job fairs will be held during January at the Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton.

On Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 2:09PM, Prince William County Police officers responded to the Truist Bank located at 16541 River Ridge Blvd. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a robbery.

On Jan. 2, Bob Weir won the Republican nomination for the Gainesville seat on Prince William County Board of Supervisors. A Special Election will be held Feb. 21 to fill a vacancy created by the Dec. 16 resignation of Gainesville Supervisor Pete Candland

The Prince William Republican Committee will meet at Park Valley Church in Haymarket tonight so Gainesville District Republicans can choose a candidate for Gainesville Supervisor. Carol Fox, the GOP's Gainesville District chairman, will chair tonight's meeting. The candidate will be on the ballot in a Feb. 21 Special Election being held to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Pete Candland.

This morning, Jan. 1. 2023, at 11:44 a.m. Prince William fire and rescue crews were dispatched to the 5900 block of Yates Ford Road (Buckhall) for a reported house fire. Crews arrived to observe fire extending to and through the attic, according to Matt Smolsky, assistant fire chief.
