Manassas Council names Steve Burke as new Manassas City Manager

Steve Burke, an Assistant City Manager and Director of Public Works for the City of Manassas, has been named City Manager by Manassas City Council effective February. 3, 2025. Interim City Manager Douglas Keen will return to his post as Police Chief and an Assistant City Manager.

City police identify victim of fatal chain reaction accident Jan. 4; charges pending

On Friday, Jan. 4, 2019, at 10:18 a.m., officers of the Manassas City Police Department responded to the intersection of Sudley Rd. and Godwin Dr. for a report of a traffic accident involving an overturned vehicle. Investigation revealed a Jeep SUV was travelling on Godwin Dr. approaching the intersection with Sudley Rd. when it collided into the rear end of a Hyundai sedan that had previously been stopped at a red light at the intersection.

Survey party discovers body in Dumfries Rd. field; autopsy reveals man had been reported as missing

On January 4 at 9:13AM, officers responded to a property located in the 14300 block of Dumfries Rd in Manassas (20112) to investigate a death. The caller reported to police that a body was discovered lying in a field at the location.

Manassas School Board member-elect Kenneth T. Nixon Jr. resigns
