On Friday, Jan. 4, 2019, at 10:18 a.m., officers of the Manassas City Police Department responded to the intersection of Sudley Rd. and Godwin Dr. for a report of a traffic accident involving an overturned vehicle. Investigation revealed a Jeep SUV was travelling on Godwin Dr. approaching the intersection with Sudley Rd. when it collided into the rear end of a Hyundai sedan that had previously been stopped at a red light at the intersection.

On January 4 at 9:13AM, officers responded to a property located in the 14300 block of Dumfries Rd in Manassas (20112) to investigate a death. The caller reported to police that a body was discovered lying in a field at the location.

Manassas School Board member-elect Kenneth T. Nixon Jr., elected Nov. 9, 2018, won't take his seat for reasons undisclosed in a Manassas School Board news release. The Board has 45 days to fill the vacancy and is now seeking applications from legally qualified residents interested in the position.
