Carolina Structural Systems, a manufacturer of custom wood trusses and other structural wood products, will invest $5.5 million to establish a new manufacturing facility near Emporia.. The company will construct a 40,000-square-foot facility in the Greensville County Industrial Park.

Tranquility Day Spa & Salon moved to Haymarket in the spring. In 2012, the business, owned by Gloria and Wayne Harding, will celebrate 15 years of business.
