A retired Manassas teacher and coach who is also a retired United States Marine Corps officer honored for his heroism in Vietnam will be the keynote speaker at the second annual Armed Forces Appreciation Day at the Prince William County Fair.

Few, if any, would question the need for more swim lanes in Prince William County. The Prince William County School Board is looking at an aquatics facility to be located at the school division's 12th high school, set to open in the fall of 2016. The board is split as to the advisability of the proposed facility.

The McDonald's Restaurant at Tackett's Mill is being demolished and replaced with a new one, and LOCCA/PELT civic association is concerned with signage and that the replacement may not match the Williamsburg theme of the shopping center in he Lake Ridge area of Woodbridge in Prince William County, VA.
Nearly 70 Virginia organizations are receiving funds through the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) based on revenue-sharing special license plate sales during the past year. The plates helped generate approximately $3.5 million for their favorite causes and colleges, with Friends of the Chesapeake Bay receiving the most.
