VDOT snow storm update for Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025

Residents are asked to be in place and off of the roads by this afternoon and be aware of the potential for icy spots as freezing temperatures remain through much of the week. Please keep in mind there will be a multi-day response to this storm as VDOT works to make the roads passable.

NOVEC asks customers to conserve energy during the deep freeze

A NOVEC official has asked customers to put off some household chores requiring major appliances until temperatures rise and demand for electricity drops. Single digit outdoor are putting an extra load on the power system to run heating systems and water heaters, NOVEC says.
