The Haymarket Town & Country Garden Club has been busy preparing for its annual Holiday Shoppe which will be held this coming Friday, Nov. 22 from 10 to 5 and Saturday, Nov. 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Prince William Fire & Rescue Station 15 Community Hall on US Rte. 15 in Haymarket.

Prince William County School Board has indicated support for an elementary school being built on the “Ferlazzo” site at Spriggs and Minnieville.
Students from the Manassas Campus of Northern Virginia Community College brought home top honors from the Seventh Annual Mid-Atlantic Mathematics Regional Tournament held at Cecil Community College in North East, Maryland, April 11. Twenty teams participated in the competition.
The University of Mary Washington will offer high-achieving prospective students the opportunity to opt out of providing standardized college admission tests with their application for enrollment.
Kindergarten registration for the 2015-16 school year will be held countywide on Thursday, April 23. Parents should contact the school their child will attend for specific registration times.

The public is invited to participate in sport, dance, fitness, fun, and physical challenges at the PWC Community Expo set for Saturday, May 9, from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. at the Pfitzner Stadium Complex.
All 36 Virginia State Parks will offer special programming or volunteer projects related to preserving the environment, recycling, upcycling, developing natural habitats or beautifying parks. Other projects include habitat creation for the threatened Monarch Butterfly, weeding, trail maintenance and plantings.

The High School Naming Committee will hold two community meetings to receive name suggestions for the “12th” High School, currently under construction in mid-county with a Manassas address.
