The Haymarket Town & Country Garden Club has been busy preparing for its annual Holiday Shoppe which will be held this coming Friday, Nov. 22 from 10 to 5 and Saturday, Nov. 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Prince William Fire & Rescue Station 15 Community Hall on US Rte. 15 in Haymarket.
Va. Rt. 28 (Nokesville Road) between Bristow Village Boulevard and Battalion Square will again be closed in both directions Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights so that crews can continue installing a storm sewer line, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) is hosting a Virginia Pavilion at the Summer Fancy Food Show, June 28-30, 2015, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. Four Prince William/Manassas area businesses will show off some of Virginia's tastiest products.
The last day of school for the 2014–15 school year will be Thursday, June 18. Elementary and middle school students will be dismissed on a half-day schedule. Lunch will be served in the elementary and middle schools.
PWCS-TV will air films of most PWCS high school graduation ceremonies. The shows give graduates, friends, and families a second chance to view the big event from the comfort of their own home.

Every ice cream cone purchased from Effee’s Frozen Favorites on Thursday, June 18 represents hope and recovery for the Powell family. During the "Cones for Kelly & Carson" event from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., all ice cream cone proceeds will go to the family, according to a news release.
Governor Terry McAuliffe announced June 15 that Severe Combined Immunodeficiency, or SCID, will be one of the disorders that every Virginia-born infant is screened for. The disease, which is fatal if not detected early, affects approximately one out of every 50,000 live births.
VDOT will host a “Pardon Our Dust” meeting Wednesday, June 17 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Chorus Room at Brentsville District High School, 12109 Aden Road in Nokesville. The Brentsville Road closure will last for the duration of the $2.8 million project, which is scheduled for completion in December.
